With the aim of improving the transparency of the negotiation process and strengthening dialogue between the Government, local self-governments, and civil society organizations/associations in Montenegro’s EU accession process, the Ministry of European Affairs is organizing consultations on Negotiation Chapter 13 – Fisheries, as an important area in the accession negotiations with the EU.
The consultations will be held on Monday, 29 September 2025, starting at 12:00 at the European House in Bar (Bulevar 24. novembra).
Representatives of local self-governments and the civil sector will speak with:
- Biljana Papović, State Secretary at the Ministry of European Affairs
- Katarina Burzanović, Head of the Negotiation Working Group and General Director of the Directorate for Fisheries at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management
- Aleksandar Joksimović, Scientific Advisor at the Institute of Marine Biology
The event is organized within the EU4ME Project – support for communicating the European integration process, funded by the European Union.
Considering the Government’s plan to temporarily close negotiations with the European Union in Chapter 13 – Fisheries by the end of the year, the goal of the event is to present concrete benefits of membership, as well as exchange opinions on further plans, obligations, and challenges within fisheries policy.
