The 18th meeting of the Subcommittee on Agriculture and Fisheries between Montenegro and the European Commission will be held on 10 October 2025 in Brussels.
The meeting will be opened on behalf of Montenegro by Montenegro’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union, Dr. Predrag Zenović, while Heinke Veit, Deputy Head of Unit for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Directorate-General for Enlargement and Neighbourhood East (DG ENEST), will deliver the opening remarks on behalf of the European Commission.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to review key achievements Montenegro has made in the areas of agriculture, rural development, food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary matters, and fisheries, as well as to assess the remaining steps needed to close these chapters in the upcoming period.
The Montenegrin delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the Administration for Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Affairs, and the Ministry of European Affairs.
The discussions are expected to contribute to further alignment of policies and legislation with the EU acquis, with the shared goal of accelerating Montenegro’s EU accession process.
Following the meeting, the Ministry of European Affairs will issue an official press release.
