Speed of Montenegro’s integration processes dubbed crucial

Speed of integration processes of Montenegro is of key importance for other countries of the Western Balkans, said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Siarto.

Following the meeting with Montenegrin Head of diplomacy Igor Luksic in Budapest, he said that Montenegro made the greatest progress of all Western Balkans countries.

“Speed of Montenegro’s integration process is of key importance for other countries of the Western Balkans. As Montenegro’s Euro-Atlantic integration is going faster and faster, the whole Western Balkans is becoming more stable”, said he.

That is the reason why, according to him, Hungary is devoted to supporting Montenegro in the process of joining NATO and the EU.

Siarto remarked that Hungary believes that it was necessary that Montenegro got the invitation to NATO this year, adding that there was no reason for not doing that.

Siarto added that geo-political relations, economic changes and conflicts in the region bring to having stability as the most important factor in the Western Balkans region.

Luksic said that Hungary was one of the most important supporters of Montenegro on the path towards NATO, adding that there was a lot of space for cooperation.

Speaking about EU integration, Luksic said that the tempo was solid, not only regarding opening of negotiation chapters, but also regarding commitment of the whole society.
