PM Đukanović, EBRD President Chakrabarti: Priorities of Montenegro and EBRD congruent

On the eve of the Western Balkans Summit in Vienna, Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti.

Djukanovic and Chakrabarti expressed their satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between Montenegro and the EBRD based on trust and common goals.

The Prime Minister underlined importance of the EBRD’s support provided to Montenegro and the region, referring to the role of the Berlin process, which represents a major step forward in relations between the European Union and the countries of the region.

“The Berlin process is an important impulse for finding the formula for the countries of the region and the region as a whole,” said Prime Minister Đukanović, stressing importance of sending a strong message on continuing support for regional networking and development from the Vienna .

EBRD President Chakrabarti commented the successful cooperation between Montenegro and the European Bank, adding that it can serve as an example for boosting economic development of Montenegro and the region as a whole.

The two officials exchanged views on the importance of attracting investors to the region, as a driving force of further economic and overall development.

The EBRD President invited Prime Minister Đukanović to be a participant in the Investment Summit in London early next year, aimed at further stimulating cooperation and economic development.
