PM Đukanovic: The key priorities of future cooperation will be road infrastructure

During the EBRD Western Balkans Investment Summit, which took place in London, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti.

The Prime Minister thanked Mr Chakrabarti for the organisation of the Summit, describing it as very successful, as well as the current cooperation between Montenegro and the EBRD. The key priorities of future cooperation, in his words, will be road infrastructure, namely the Adriatic-Ionic corridor. Its construction will improve transport access to Montenegro and other countries in the region. Both sides agreed that it is very important that the EBRD will be the leading financial institution in this project.

Mr Chakrabarti recalled of the fact that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development made investments worth EUR 100 million in 13 projects in Montenegro.

“The new EBRD strategy for Montenegro highlights energy and further modernisation of capacities in the field of air transport as priorities”, he concluded.
