Ecological workshop on the Occasion of Earth Day at the “Bambi” kindergarten

To mark Earth Day, the Ministry of European Affairs, with the support of the EU4ME project, organized an interactive workshop last week for children from the “Bambi” kindergarten in Tivat. Through fun and educational content, the young ones were introduced to the world of recycling and the importance of protecting the planet in a way they can understand and enjoy.

The workshop was attended by the Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević, and the Mayor of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, who emphasized the importance of developing environmental awareness from an early age. On this occasion, the children were given educational coloring books to continue learning about environmental protection through play at home.

Through interactive games and activities, the children learned what recycling means, why it is important, and how they can contribute to preserving nature. Special attention was drawn to the animated characters Eco Ema and Recycle Dobrić, whose stories taught the children how to properly recycle plastic and why protecting nature matters.

The children had the opportunity to see an eco board and eco pillar made from recycled plastic, as well as to participate in assembling a 3D-printed relief map of Montenegro made from the same material. This relief is part of the board game “Eco Adventure,” produced by the “Do Good” Foundation.

With the support of the EU4ME project, financed by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, the Ministry of European Affairs donated three eco benches and three 3-in-1 eco bins to the kindergarten for separate collection of plastic, paper, and glass. All donations were made from recycled plastic, the processing of which removed over 200 kilograms of waste from nature.

The event was organized within the framework of the project “Support to the Government of Montenegro in Communicating EU Accession and EU Assistance in Montenegro – EU4ME,” which aims to improve communication with citizens, increase understanding of EU integration, and bring closer the benefits that EU membership offers to every individual.
