Eighteenth Meeting of the Subcommittee on Trade, Industry, Customs and Taxation between the EU and Montenegro

The eighteenth meeting of the Subcommittee on Trade, Industry, Customs and Taxation between the EU and Montenegro will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, in Brussels, in a hybrid format.

The meeting will be opened on the Montenegrin side by Montenegro’s Chief Negotiator with the European Union, Predrag Zenović, and the Director General of the Directorate for International Cooperation, European Integration and Implementation of EU Funds at the Ministry of Economic Development, Ivona Savićević, while on behalf of the European Commission, Heinke Veit, Deputy Head of Unit B4 – Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG ENEST), will address the participants.

The meeting will review the progress made in the areas covered by Chapters 1 – Free Movement of Goods, 16 – Taxation, 20 – Enterprise and Industrial Policy, 29 – Customs Union, and 30 – External Relations, compared to the previous Subcommittee meeting held on June 11, 2024.

Representatives of Montenegrin institutions will present the achieved results, ongoing and planned activities regarding the alignment of national legislation with the EU acquis and the strengthening of administrative capacities. They will also exchange views with colleagues from the European Commission on fulfilling the requirements stemming from the European agenda in the areas covered by these chapters.
