Gorčević with Alhantouli: We condemn the suffering of the civilian population and support dialogue and the restoration of peace in the Gaza

Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević met today the Ambassador of Palestine Rabi Alhantouli. The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the relations between Montenegro and Palestine, as well as on the situation in the Middle East.

Alhantuli congratulated Gorčević on taking office and wished the Government and the Ministry of European Affairs successful work. The ambassador informed the minister about the current situation in the Gaza Strip. He expressed satisfaction with the friendly relations between the two countries and thanked for the humanitarian aid that Montenegro sent to the population in the war-torn area.

Minister Gorčević expressed her compassion for the civilian casualties in Gaza and expressed her hope for a quick peace settlement.

“Montenegro, as a responsible member of NATO and a candidate for EU membership, and a country that is committed to regional and multilateral cooperation, condemns war conflicts and the suffering of the civilian population. We strongly advocate and support dialogue and diplomatic efforts aimed at finding a long-term solution to the security crisis and restoring peace and stability in the Middle East,” said Gorčević.
