The Youth Ecologists Association of Nikšić has launched a project entitled “Young Eco Poirot MEP4”, intended for high school students from four schools in Nikšić.
The project is being implemented with the support of the De facto for Youth program of the Fund for Active Citizenship in partnership with Alfa Centre. The program is financed by the European Union and co-financed by the Ministry of Regional-Investment Development and Cooperation with NGOs.
The aim of the project is to identify and solve local environmental problems through education, research, and leadership development.
“We are currently in the phase of preparing a public call, where the project team, in cooperation with one mentor from each high school, will select five students based on their enthusiasm and creativity on the topic of sustainable development,” said the Association.
They emphasized that the selected students will undergo training on topics such as sustainable development, mapping local problems, participatory governance, and human rights in the field of the environment.
“This will be followed by research and work on solution proposals, as well as the production of short videos about environmental problems, including solutions from the students themselves. Citizens will have the opportunity to choose the best video material, after which prizes will be awarded to all four teams, enabling them to carry out their mini-actions to the end. The entire process will conclude with an environmental action involving all teams, schools, the municipality, and civil society organizations,” the Youth Ecologists Association of Nikšić highlighted.
