Presented opportunities within the Cross-border Program Serbia-Montenegro and the Mediterranean Transnational Program

The Serbia-Montenegro 2014-2020 Program is a continuation of successful cooperation that established the Operational Structures of the two countries in the previous perspective (2007-2013), when 34 projects of total amount 6.2 million euros were realized, was evaluated during the information days on the IPA Cross-Border Program Cooperation between Serbia and Montenegro 2014-2020 and Interreg Mediterranean Transnational Program 2014-2020.

Information sessions were organized in all Montenegrin municipalities in the period from 1st to 12th October 2018, organized by the European Integration Office. The goal of these events was to inform potential users and interested public about the possibilities of financing through these cooperation programs, as well as announcing forthcoming calls for proposals.

Previous projects have significantly improved the cooperation of people and communities and contributed to socio-economic development in the program area. The continuation of the program in the period 2014-2020, worth 8.4 million euros, opens up opportunities for financing projects that encourage development and cooperation between people and institutions in the border regions of the two countries, it was estimated during the sessions. Representatives of the European Integration Office presented the characteristics of the Program and specifically looked at its thematic priorities, which mostly relate to the promotion of employment and labor mobility, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change, the improvement of tourism and the valorisation of cultural and natural heritage.

Call to submit proposals for the Interreg Mediterranean program is expected by the end of 2018, while the Program with Serbia is expected in early 2019.
