Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted earlier today a delegation of the Parliamentary Group for South East Europe of the German Bundestag, led by the group President Peter Weiss (CDU). The delegation also included MPs Andreas Lemel (CDU) and Dirk Fepel (SPD).
During the talks, the officials exchanged views on the progress in EU and NATO integration, political and economic situation in the country and developments in the region.
Prime Minister Đukanović elaborated the nature of political agreement between the government and the opposition.
He thanked the German Government and Parliament for providing suppor to Montenegro both bilaterally and in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and emphasised the importance of the Berlin process, initiated by Chancellor Angela Merkel.
“This is an encouragement for us to persevere in the pro-European vision and I can assure you that Montenegro will be your small but consistent and reliable partner and promoter of European values in the region,” PM Đukanović stated.
MP Peter Weiss pointed out that the German Bundestag is a friend of Montenegro who closely monitors its development path and wished Montenegro luck in further stages of accession to NATO and the EU.
