Panel Discussion “How to Retain Talent: Montenegro and the Challenge of European Mobility”

The Ministry of European Affairs, with the support of the European Union through the EU4ME project, in cooperation with the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) in Montenegro, is organising a panel discussion entitled “How to Retain Talent: Montenegro and the Challenge of European Mobility”, which will take place on Friday, 16 October, at 12:30 p.m. at Europe House in Bijelo Polje.

The event will address youth mobility, the opportunities offered by European integration, and the challenges Montenegro faces in retaining talent, creating better living and working conditions, and making use of the knowledge and experience young people gain in other European countries.

At the first panel, “Open Borders, New Opportunities – How to Retain Talent?”, participants will include Maida Gorčević, Minister of European Affairs; Damir Gutić, Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography; and Marjan Šarec, Member of the European Parliament and the European Parliament’s standing rapporteur for Montenegro. The discussion will be moderated by Edin Koljenović, Head of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) in Montenegro.

The second panel, “The EU Is Coming – Will Young People Stay?”, will focus on the perspectives of young people, science, entrepreneurship and youth work. The discussion will feature Radivoje Drobnjak from the Science and Technology Park of Montenegro, Aleksandra Simoni, a master’s student at the Faculty of Political Science and a young entrepreneur, and Katarina Vukadinović, a youth worker engaged with the Youth Office of the Municipality of Budva. The panel will be moderated by Bojana Lalatović, representative of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) in Montenegro.

The panel is being organised as part of the “Let’s Talk Openly About the EU” campaign, implemented by the Ministry of European Affairs through the EU4ME project. The campaign aims to address key questions and concerns regarding Montenegro’s future EU membership and its impact on everyday life through dialogue with citizens.

Media representatives are invited to cover the event.
