Quality education among the priorities of the EU and UNICEF

The dynamic of the implementation of key reforms in the field of education in Montenegro is good, as confirmed by the fact that chapter 26 was one of the first closed chapters in the negotiation process with the European Union, was assessed by Chief Negotiator Aleksandar Drljević and Head of UNICEF in Montenegro Osama Makkawi Khogali.

The Chief Negotiator met Khogali with the new organization of the European Integration Office as well as with the status of the EU negotiation process, pointing out that Montenegro has opened 31 chapters, three of which are temporarily closed. He emphasized that education is an extremely important area, especially in terms of planned measures under the Montenegro’s EU Accession Programme.

“Our priorities in this area are aligned with the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development by 2030, which defines inclusive and quality education as a goal and promotes lifelong learning opportunities. This is also the goal for Montenegro and we are aiming to it through our efforts to ensure quality education for all children”, Drljević pointed out.
