In Nikšić, on 30 October 2025, an information session was held, organized by the Ministry of European Affairs, the European Union Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Directorate for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regarding the announcement of the Second Call for projects under the IPA III Cross-Border Cooperation Program Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027.
On behalf of the Ministry of European Affairs, Nada Pejović, Head of the Directorate for Bilateral Cross-Border Programs, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing that this call, open until 28 November 2025, represents a continuation of successful cooperation between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina and an important step toward a shared European future.
Over the past 14 years, 55 projects with a total value of around EUR 17 million have been implemented. Additionally, through the First Call, 5 new projects were approved and are in the implementation phase, with a total value of around EUR 2.5 million, laying the foundations for strong cooperation among public institutions, local governments, the civil sector, and other partners.
The new program for the period 2021–2027 provides EUR 9.7 million, focusing on sustainable tourism, preservation of cultural and natural heritage, environmental protection, risk management, and climate change mitigation. Under the current call, projects will be supported up to EUR 500,000 in the area of risk management and up to EUR 400,000 in the area of climate change, with a maximum duration of 30 months and 24 months, respectively. The total EU support for this Call amounts to EUR 3.33 million.
Pejović emphasized that the program’s success so far would not have been possible without the quality cooperation of institutions from both countries and the continuous support of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Joint Technical Secretariat.
On behalf of the Directorate for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alma Kurtalić Zahiragić greeted the participants, thanked them for their interest, and wished them a successful session.
