The Ministry of European Affairs, with the support of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro through the EU4ME project, in cooperation with the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Public Institution Secondary Mixed School “Ivan Goran Kovačić”, is organizing the celebration of Europe Day in Herceg Novi on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Media statements are scheduled for 2:50 p.m. in the building of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, and the media will be addressed by: Stevan Katić, President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, Dr Filip Ivanović, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Foreign and European Affairs, and Orlando Fusco, Program Manager at the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro.
The cultural and artistic program marking Europe Day will open at 4:45 p.m. at the “Park” hall. The opening remarks will be delivered by: Ivan Otović, Vice President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, Dr Filip Ivanović, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Foreign and European Affairs, Orlando Fusco, Program Manager at the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, and Ljiljana Karanović, Director of the Public Institution Secondary Mixed School “Ivan Goran Kovačić”.
Starting at 5 p.m., the cultural and artistic program “I Can Do It Alone, But I Don’t Have To”, prepared by students of the Public Institution Secondary Mixed School “Ivan Goran Kovačić”, will be performed. The program combines music, drama, and visual art, with a focus on the values of togetherness, solidarity, and mutual understanding. A special segment inspired by the musical Hair will bring the spirit of freedom and togetherness, while at the same time the exhibition “Hands” will be presented, through which students symbolically portray friendship, warmth, and connection among people.
