The Ministry of European Affairs, with the support of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro through the EU4ME project, in cooperation with the Municipality of Kotor, Kotor Gymnasium, and the “Nikola Đurković” Cultural Centre, is organizing the celebration of Europe Day in Kotor.
The celebration program will begin at 11:10 a.m. with a visit to the “Pacijenca” project, winner of the Europa Nostra award, at the Solidarity Gallery of the Public Institution Museums Kotor. During the visit, the importance of preserving cultural heritage and the contribution of European projects to the protection of cultural assets will be presented.
At 12 noon, a visit to the traditional dance of graduating students at Saint Tryphon Square is planned, while media statements are scheduled for 12:20 p.m. at Saint Tryphon Square.
The central cultural program marking Europe Day will open at 12:45 p.m. at the “Nikola Đurković” Cultural Centre. The opening remarks will be delivered by: Vladimir Jokić, President of the Municipality of Kotor, H.E. Dr. Christian Steiner, Ambassador of Austria to Montenegro, Dragan Krapović, Minister of Defence, and Maida Gorčević, Minister of European Affairs.
At 1 p.m., the play “Reading The Little Prince Here and Now” will be performed by students of Kotor Gymnasium, under the mentorship of professors Ljiljana Čolan and Marija Jevtić. Through a contemporary reading of the literary classic, the play brings a story about friendship, understanding, responsibility, and the values that connect people and communities.
