Montenegro has been awarded the “TAIEX Champion” recognition for the strategic use of the TAIEX instrument, coordinated by the Ministry of European Affairs of Montenegro, in advancing reforms in the process of accession to the European Union. The award is given within the framework of the European Commission’s Institution Building Days.
The Institution Building Days are an annual flagship event of the European Commission dedicated to institution building, bringing together public administrations, experts, and partners to exchange experiences and improve public policies across Europe and partner countries. This year’s edition marks 30 years of the TAIEX instrument – three decades of support for strengthening institutions, the enlargement process, and the exchange of expert knowledge.

Within the event, “TAIEX Champions” awards are presented as recognition for outstanding results in the use of the TAIEX instrument in the process of institution building and European cooperation.
Montenegro was awarded for the consistent and strategic use of the TAIEX instrument in implementing reforms on the path towards EU membership, particularly in the area of building a professional and efficient public administration in line with European standards.
The award was received on behalf of Montenegro by Ambassador Petar Marković, while it was presented by Marta Kos, European Commissioner for Enlargement.
In addition to Montenegro, the award was also given to Albania for its contribution to strengthening judicial institutions through the vetting process.

This recognition represents confirmation of Montenegro’s continuous and comprehensive reform efforts on its European path, as well as the importance of knowledge and expertise exchange in the European integration process.
