The Municipality of Bar is launching two new cross-border cooperation projects, “AIdEE” and “BRIDGE,” approved under the Interreg programme HR-BA-ME 2021–2027, which focus on energy efficiency and the development of innovation-based entrepreneurship.
“This positions Bar as an important driver of sustainable development and regional connectivity and confirms the leading role of the local administration in the successful preparation and implementation of projects financed from the European Union’s pre-accession funds,” the Municipality stated.
As the lead partner in the “AIdEE” (Artificial Intelligence Developing Energy Efficient Public Buildings) project, the Municipality of Bar aims to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings through the application of modern technologies and solutions based on artificial intelligence.
“Planned project activities include the modernization of lighting in the ‘Topolica’ sports hall, the development of an Energy Efficiency Plan, as well as the creation of smart systems for the management and maintenance of public buildings, which will have a direct impact on reducing energy consumption and modernizing public infrastructure,” the Municipality explained.
In addition, the Municipality of Bar participates as a partner in the “BRIDGE” (Boosting Regional Innovation and Development through Growth and Entrepreneurship) project, which is aimed at strengthening the innovation ecosystem and supporting young entrepreneurs, addressing challenges such as lack of infrastructure, low levels of innovation, and weak connectivity among stakeholders.
“Through this project, three innovation hubs will be modernized, an AI platform will be developed to connect start-ups, mentors, and investors, and training and mentorship programs will be implemented. Of particular importance is the establishment of a modern digital hub in Bar, which will become a central place for idea development, digital solutions, and regional networking,” they concluded in the Municipality.
Based on both projects, the Municipality of Bar has been allocated funds in the amount of 630,681.80 euros for the implementation of planned activities.
