Public consultations on the draft trilateral programme Italy – Albania – Montenegro

Within the framework of programming IPA II EU pre-accession assistance for 2014-2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration hosted earlier today in Podgorica the public consultations on the draft trilateral programme Italy – Albania – Montenegro.

The event was an opportunity to exchange opinions on the subject and content of the future programme, priorities, specific objectives, activities to be financed, and potential beneficiaries.

The public consultations were launched by Director-General for the coordination of EU assistance programmes Ivana Petričević, and she presented bilateral, trilateral, and trans-national programmes for the IPA II 2014-2020 programming period in which Montenegro will take part. She also underlined that it is expected that around 80 million EUR will be allocated in the forthcoming period for the implementation of this Programme.

The basic priorities of the trilateral programme Italy – Albania – Montenegro were presented by Director for Cross-Border Cooperation Ivana Glišević Đurović: SMEs competitiveness and establishing cooperation practices, good management of natural and cultural resources in order to ensure sustainable tourism and attractiveness, environmental protection, risk management, low-carbon strategy, and cross-border sustainable networks.

The participants at the event came from state institutions, local governments, public companies, and the civil society, who expressed a great interest in the programme and possibilities to participate.
