The Interreg Euro-MED Programme will launch its 8th call for project proposals in October, aimed at supporting projects that contribute to strengthening territorial resilience and the sustainable development of the Mediterranean.
The Interreg Euro-MED Programme Joint Secretariat is organising an information session dedicated to the 8th call on 22 September 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Potential applicants and partners will have the opportunity to learn about the key elements of the upcoming call, including its objectives and priorities, the thematic areas, expectations for project proposals and the application procedure. Registration for the session is open.
The call covers three of the Programme’s four missions:
- Green Living Areas
- Innovative Sustainable Economy
- Natural Heritage
The Sustainable Tourism mission will not be covered by the eighth call, as Interreg Euro-MED has already published a previous 7th call under the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism for this area.
Around 10 thematic projects are expected to be selected under the 8th call, with a total indicative budget of approximately EUR 20 million. Unlike previous Interreg Euro-MED calls, participation is also open to small and medium-sized enterprises this time. The call requirements have been published on the Interreg Euro-MED Programme page dedicated to the 8th call.
As the projects will run for 24 months, project proposals are expected to have a clear focus on concrete activities and results. Particular emphasis will be placed on projects with a clearly defined scope and specific territorial context, the implementation of pilot activities on the ground, as well as the potential for the results achieved to be translated into public policies and practice.
