The Municipality of Nikšić, as in previous years, is organizing the New Year Fair of Local Products in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, the Ministry of Tourism, the Nikšić Tourist Organization, the Nikšić Sports Center, Alter Modus Bank, and the “Volunteers of Montenegro” Foundation. The goal of the Fair is to give agricultural producers, as well as creators of souvenirs, artworks, and handicrafts, an opportunity to showcase their products to citizens.
For this year’s edition, titled “XII New Year Fair of Local Products the European Way”, the Ministry of European Affairs is also participating. The occasion is the closure of Chapter 11 – Agriculture and Rural Development in the EU accession negotiations, expected in mid-December in Brussels. The Fair will provide an opportunity to explain to farmers the benefits of closing the chapter, what it means for them, what awaits them once Montenegro becomes an EU member, and the new and increased funds available for improving production, modernizing equipment, enhancing farms, and boosting competitiveness.
Applications for the Fair are now open and will continue until 23 December. Applications, along with proof of registration, can be submitted to the Secretariat for Finance, Development and Entrepreneurship on the fourth floor of the Municipality of Nikšić building (office no. 3), via email at biljana.zoric@niksic.me and gordana.colakovic@niksic.me, or by post to: Municipality of Nikšić, Njegoševa 18, 81 400 Nikšić.
Participation in the Fair, which will take place from 26 to 28 December in the hall of the Nikšić Sports Center, is free, and stands will be provided for exhibitors.
