The Society of Young Ecologists Nikšić successfully carried out the final activity of the project “Young Eco Poirot – MEP4,” through a joint tree-planting action of linden, birch, and maple trees in the park in the neighborhood near the hospital.
“This initiative brought together numerous local actors and once again confirmed the importance of cooperation in improving the environment in the local community,” the Society of Young Ecologists emphasized.
The activity was joined by the Municipality of Nikšić – Secretariat for Communal Affairs and Transport, the Secretariat for Environmental Protection, civil society organizations (Volunteers of Montenegro, Media Team, Format), the public institutions Gymnasium “Stojan Cerović,” Secondary School of Economics and Hospitality, Secondary Vocational School, and First Secondary Vocational School, representatives of the local communities Grudska Mahala and Kličevo, with significant support from the Municipal Services and Greenery Nikšić.
“This action aimed to highlight that sustainable community progress requires joint action by all relevant local stakeholders. It is precisely through such examples of cooperation that we build the foundations for a healthier and more orderly environment in Nikšić,” the Society concluded.
The project was implemented with the support of the “De facto for Youth” program, carried out by the Fund for Active Citizenship in partnership with Alfa Center. The program is funded by the European Union, with co-financing from the Ministry of Regional-Investment Development and Cooperation with NGOs.
