The Ministry of European Affairs, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro through the EU4ME project, in cooperation with the Municipalities of Plav and Gusinje, “Bećo Bašić” Secondary Mixed School, “Džafer Nikočević” Primary School, and the Gusinje Cultural Center, is organizing the celebration of Europe Day in Plav and Gusinje on Friday, May 29, 2026.
The celebration program will begin in Plav with an official meeting of delegations and a tour of EU projects, including an electric vehicle charging station and activities focused on the sustainable use of medicinal and aromatic plants.
The central part of the program will be held in Gusinje, where a cultural and artistic program titled “From Gusinje and Plav to Brussels: Our European Story” will take place at the Cultural Center starting at 4 p.m.
The program will be opened by Sanel Balić, President of the Municipality of Gusinje; Nihad Canović, President of the Municipality of Plav; Naida Nišić, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue; Admir Šahmanović, Minister of Energy and Mining; Damir Gutić, Minister of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography; as well as Piotr Stachańczyk, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Poland in Montenegro.
Through a joint performance by students of “Bećo Bašić” Secondary Mixed School from Plav and “Džafer Nikočević” Primary School from Gusinje, a story of unity, diversity, and European values connecting local communities and Montenegro’s European future will be presented.
