European Pub Quiz in Berane Marks the Successful Conclusion of the Tour Across Montenegro

Good spirits, teamwork and engaging questions marked the final edition of the European Pub Quiz in Berane, bringing to a close the tour held in several cities across Montenegro. Following events in Podgorica, Nikšić, Bar, Budva and Bijelo Polje, the final quiz gathered participants who jointly concluded a cycle of events that brought together 62 teams and around 250 contestants from across Montenegro.

Through dynamic rounds, teams tested their knowledge of the European Union, its Member States, culture, history and interesting facts, while also showing that positive energy and togetherness are just as important as the final result. The European Pub Quiz tour once again confirmed the strong interest in formats that successfully combine education and entertainment, contributing to a more vibrant social life in cities across Montenegro.

In Berane, first place was won by the team “23”, while teams “84300” and “Vasojevići” finished in the middle and at the bottom of the rankings, confirming that the quiz was, above all, an opportunity for socialising and enjoying a great atmosphere.

“This quiz was very interesting. I think it is something that is extremely important for young people, because they do not learn enough about the European Union, Montenegro’s integration process and Euro-Atlantic integration in general. This quiz is therefore a great initiative,” said quiz participant Marko Vulević.

Participant Nikola Marković added that he would like to see more events of this kind organised in Montenegro: “It is creative, and because of that, going out feels more relaxed.”

The Ministry of European Affairs emphasises that the goal of initiatives like this is to bring the European integration process closer to citizens through a different, more direct format.

“Through the European Pub Quiz, we wanted to talk about the European Union and the process of European integration in a way that is closer to citizens – through games, team spirit and an informal atmosphere. The turnout in all cities shows that there is great interest in this type of content, but also that such initiatives contribute to a better understanding of European topics and the accession process itself. Our goal is for Montenegro to become the 28th member of the European Union, and formats like this help bring that journey closer to citizens and make it more understandable,” the Ministry stated.

The European Pub Quiz was organised by the Ministry of European Affairs and the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, through the EU4ME and European House projects, in cooperation with quiz author Zoran Miljanić.
