The Ministry of European Affairs, in cooperation with the non-governmental organization “Center for Women’s Rights”, is organizing the Panel “Addressing Femicide: Legal Framework and Practice of EU States ”
The panel will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the European House in Podgorica.
The panel will feature:
- Maida Gorčević, Minister of European Affairs
- Bojan Božović, Minister of Justice
- Jelenka Andrić, President of the Committee for Gender Equality in the Parliament of Montenegro
- Andreina Marsella, Ambassador of Italy to Montenegro
- Maja Raičević, Executive Director of the Center for Women’s Rights, who will also moderate the event
The event will be dedicated to the legislative framework for the protection of women from gender-based violence, with a special focus on introducing femicide as a separate criminal offense in the legal system of Montenegro. The aim of the event is to, through institutional and expert dialogue, open questions of improving the normative framework and more efficient mechanisms for the protection of women from gender-based violence.
The panel is implemented within the EU4ME Project financed by the European Union.
