Montenegro is committed to meeting all the prerequisites for obtaining closing benchmarks in negotiating chapters 23 and 24, was stated at the meeting of the Joint Consultative Committee of the Civil Sector of the European Union and Montenegro and it was announced that the European Commission will continue to monitor the country’s progress in key areas.
The JCC meeting, which was held today in Brussels, was chaired by Lidija Pavić-Rogošić and Pavle D. Radovanović. The delegation of Montenegro consisted of the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro, the Employers’ Union, non-governmental organizations of CCE and CRNVO, Montenegro Business Alliance and the European Integration Office.
The meeting was marked by the exchange of information between the two sides on the areas belonging to negotiating chapter 3 – The right to establish an enterprise and the freedom to provide services, as well as the debate on the challenges and progress of Montenegro in the field of migration. It was agreed that the next meeting, which will be held in Montenegro, will focus on negotiating chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Change, as well as the objectives of sustainable development.
At the end of the meeting, a Joint Declaration was adopted, which will be sent to the Stabilization and Association Committee, the Parliamentary Stabilization and Association Committee, the European External Action Service, the European Commission and the Government of Montenegro.
