The first 9 projects within the Interreg VI-A IPA program Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro have been approved

At the meeting of the Interreg VI-A IPA Program Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021-2027 Monitoring Committee, held on February 16, 2024, 9 cross-border projects were approved as part of the First Call for Project Proposals.

The approved projects relate to two specific goals within Priority 2, namely four projects within specific goal 2.1 “Promoting energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions”, and five projects within specific goal 2.6. “Promoting the transition to a resource-efficient circular economy”.

Eight Montenegrin institutions and organizations participate in 7 approved projects, the total value of which is over 3.2 million euros. The Municipality of Tuzi is the leading partner in the To 0 Waste project, and in cooperation with the Municipality of Konavle and the City of Mostar, it will work on improving the waste management system.

Other entities from Montenegro participating as project partners, namely: IPC Tehnopolis (SMART DeCARB project), Municipality of Tivat (APOLLO), Municipality of Herceg Novi (SINERGY), Municipality of Ulcinj (R10D3), Municipality of Zeta i Čistoća d.o.o. Podgorica (RECIRCLE), and Komunalno Kotor (CircleAware).

In addition to the mentioned projects, the Supervisory Board also approved the project “Fund for Small Projects” (SPF), which will be implemented by the Croatian Agency for Small Business, Innovation and Investments, and concerns the support of micro and small businesses in the program area.

A total of 217 project proposals were submitted to the First Call, opened in the middle of last year. The results of the evaluation of project proposals within other specific objectives will be published in April this year.
