Chief Negotiator Predrag Zenović met at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU, and Cooperation with Deputy Director-General for the EU Miguel García-Heráiz and Ambassador for Enlargement Juan Aristegui.
The Spanish officials praised Montenegro’s progress in the European integration process, highlighting that the reform results are a positive signal for Western Balkan countries.
Zenović stated that support for Montenegro’s European perspective was clearly reaffirmed during Spain’s presidency of the EU Council.
“We are grateful for Madrid’s willingness to continue providing political and expert support to Montenegro on its European path,” Zenović said.
During his visit to Spain, Zenović will also participate in the III Forum on the Future of Europe that is organized by the Spanish association Equipo Europa. Zenović will speak on a panel titled “Political and Legal Challenges of EU Enlargement and Reform” at this event.
