Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević and Taras Kačka, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, signed in Brussels a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of European integration between Montenegro and Ukraine. In this way, both countries confirmed their commitment to shared values and the strategic goal of full EU membership.
The signing of this Memorandum strengthens bilateral relations and once again confirms the political will of both sides to accelerate European integration and thereby contribute to the stability of the EU. In this way, Ukraine gains the opportunity to rely on the experience of Montenegro, which has achieved significant progress in the negotiation process with the EU by closing several chapters in a short period of time.

“Montenegro’s position as the most advanced candidate in the EU accession process can be valuable for Ukraine, and in that sense we are making available our experience and expertise in key areas. Certainly, the cooperation is mutual, so it is very important that we have defined coordination and a framework for further improvement of partnership relations with Ukraine, with the aim of aligning with EU standards as quickly as possible,” said Gorčević.
The intensification of cooperation between the two countries includes key areas such as the rule of law, public administration reform, the fight against corruption, economic criteria, green and digital transformation, as well as strengthening institutional and administrative capacities. It also envisages the exchange of information on EU financial support programs and the improvement of communication activities, with the possibility of expanding cooperation to other areas of mutual interest.

Additionally, this act confirms the credibility and proactive role of Montenegro in the European community and represents an additional incentive to European integration processes.
